Kira and Mark Zabrowski, the husband-and-wife team behind Much Ado About Pizza, took an unexpected leap from education and sales to the world of pizza, turning their passion into an award-winning, family-run pizzeria in Pleasanton, California. Kira, a Lamar University Theatre graduate with a Teaching Credential from JFK University, was a local actor and educator, bringing storytelling and creativity into everything she does. Mark, a Florida State alumnus with a Master's from Phoenix University, had a background in education and sales before they both left their careers in 2021 to pursue pizza full-time. Since 2022, they have competed on the national stage, earning top placements at the International Pizza Challenge at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas, the California Pizza Challenge, and more. Their naturally fermented sourdough pizza has landed them on Yelp's Top 100 Restaurants in the U.S. (twice!), and as members of the U.S. Pizza Team and Galbani Pro Team, they continue to push the craft forward. Dedicated to giving back, they are proud members of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and Slice Out Hunger, using their pizza to support local causes. Their Shakespeare Shares initiative raises funds for food shelters, and Kira is an advocate for Women in Pizza, inspiring inclusivity in the industry. With their children also involved, Much Ado About Pizza is truly a family-driven labor of love, fueled by passion, perseverance, and community.
